Brigitte von Bulow is Australian, born in Western Europe and now resides in the United States. Her first CD, *FREEDOM*, made in 2002 in Perth/Australia is specially composed for the poem *With the Wish to free all Beings* from Shantideva. Her first experience with a professional studio was a very happy one (the Sound Mine studio of Lee Buddle (Gavin Tempany) in Perth and the photos on the cover of the CD are from her son Paul, stunning Australian landscapes. Her second CD came to light in New Jersey, at the studio of Jimmy Wilgus (The Den Studios) and manufactured at Disc Makers, Pennsauken. also New Jersey. This CD is called *DOVES OF PEACE* and was sold out the very first moment it hit the market. Both these CD's are being played in restaurants, Airlines (for instance at the First Class Lounge of ANZ in Auckland), radios. Her name has also been added to the list of Australian artists at the Consulate of Australia in New York. It is perhaps remarkable that Brigitte never learned how to compose and yet has produced such professional music. Yes, she had for many years pianolessons (and then in several countries and thus from diverse teachers, from a very young age (amongst them India, Italy and Brazil) and went to various music schools, but she never learned how to compose notes into music (she can write and read notes, ofcourse, but composing is a very different art form). She therefore relies on her sheer patience to first play and record her music on tape and then write the notes. Till now she has made in such a way close to 120 scores. Her wish is to become proficient with writing music and make the universe her partner in reaching that goal (she believes very much that all her talent and gifts come from somewhere beyond herself, as with the music: the melody just *comes*, the music just *floats* and beauty evolves. Music, a true word, muse, poem, from a place we can not see, only but able to manifest when we open ourselves for it to come.) Brigitte is a devout Tibetan Buddhist and her Buddhist name is Tenzin Lhamo. In fact one of the projects for the near future is producing together with a Monk of the Namgyal Monastery (the Dalai Lama's seat), a CD with chants.
Another project is to put into soulful music
one or two of Brigittes own poems, some of which have been published in
the United States (one in a book), the Netherlands and Australia. Other near future goals are a guitar/piano CD, proposed by one of the leading American guitarists. Brigitte also paints and writes. (articles appeared in magazines and newspapers worldwide (for instance in *The European*) and one of her poems *OGGI*, was in the finals of an International poetry competition. Her Buddha statues are beautifully decorated, a true art. One of these statues is in the Namgyal Monastery. And as for her paintings, to mention one: a large heart, meaning the Heart of Australia, all that is so beautiful and pure, hangs at the Australian Consulate in Lima/Peru. On 18th February 2005 she received an official recommendation to have her name engraved on the Wall of Tolerance in the United States. It says on the blue and gold certificate that the National Campaign for Tolerance, chaired by Morris Dees and Rosa Parks, *do hereby authorize that the name of Brigitte von Bulow be placed on the Wall of Tolerance, honoring those who are taking a personal, public stand against hate, injustice and intolerance, and who are leading the way toward a more just America as Founding Members of the National Campaign for Tolerance* MUSIC TO DATE (*Freedom* and *Doves of Peace* can be heard on http://www.cdbaby.com) *Tibetan Bells* - A composition, duration 6.14 minutes, of Tibetan Bells, in a haunting and beautiful melody of free spirit. *Give me, oh give me, a touch of magic* - piano with guitar. Happy and magical, music for days in mountains, warmed in a log cabin with wood fire. *Dreaming* - music composed for Brigitte's poem *Dreaming* (about Aborigines and Uluruh) and a salute to the original inhabitants of Australia. *Thoughts* 10 minute soulful composition for strings and piano *Whereto* 18 short piano pieces, happy and vibrant. A story in itself.
